PersonID — Identity Platform

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating a PersonID account or using the PersonID identity platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service. PersonID is operated as part of the PEI ecosystem.

2. Description of Service

PersonID provides identity and authentication services including:

User registration and account management
Single sign-on (SSO) across PEI ecosystem applications
OAuth 2.0 authorization and OpenID Connect identity provider services
Third-party identity provider integration (Google, GitHub, Microsoft, Apple)

3. Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

Providing accurate and complete registration information.
Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
All activities that occur under your account.
Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Using the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental consent.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or other users' accounts.
Interfere with or disrupt the Service, its servers, or networks.
Create accounts through automated means or use the Service to send spam.
Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state your affiliation.
Use the Service to distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code.

5. Third-Party Applications

When you use your PersonID account to sign in to third-party applications (OAuth clients), you are subject to those applications' respective terms and privacy policies. PersonID is not responsible for the content, functionality, or practices of third-party applications that integrate with the Service.

6. Intellectual Property

The PersonID name, logo, and all related branding are the property of PersonID and the PEI ecosystem. The Service, including its underlying code, design, and infrastructure, is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

7. Service Availability

We strive to provide reliable and continuous service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PersonID and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or engage in prohibited activities. Upon termination, your data will be handled according to our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, followed by binding arbitration if necessary.
